All children within the nursery school are encouraged to develop their potential at their own pace. The children are offered different experiences at each session, activities are carefully planned and selected so that children are able to follow a curriculum which enables them to make maximum progress towards the Early Learning Goals related to the Early Years Foundation Stage which starts from birth and follows through to the end of the reception year.
All our activities aim to enhance the children's creative, physical, problem solving skills, social skills, communication, language, literacy and knowledge / understanding of the world.
ICT
The children are introduced and encouraged to use programmable toys and use the computer for educational games.
Play
We have 2 outdoor play areas and try to have outdoor time everyday. The children are encouraged to participate in group games to develop their social skills, the children have use of a climbing frame, slide, bikes and scooters,bats balls, hoops. The children are able to play with sand and water indoors and outside.
The children have a wide range of activities such as lego, mobilo, popiods, puzzles, playdough, art and craft, cooking, role play, puppets, cars, trains, dolls, dolls house and many more activities.
Snack Time
The children have access to a milk bar throughout the morning and afternoon sessions.We provide the children with milk, squash, water and a snack. We offer healthy options such as veggie sticks, fruit, raisins and breadsticks, sometimes we have toast or may try other foods that relate to our themes.
We have a food and drink policy and ask that children do not bring packed lunches with fizzy drinks or chocolate, and we have a no nut policy due to allergies in the nursery school.
Group Activities
We have a story time, circle time, show and tell, discuss the weather and our themes, The older children learn a sound, number, shape and colour each week.
We also have social events at certain times throughout the year, fun week in the Summer, a leavers play for the children going off to school, a Nativity and entertainer.
